Restoration

A recent project was to repair an iron fence that had been neglected and the new owner of the property wanted to restore it back to it's former glory.

Fence severely buckled, needs a lot of TLC!!

It seemed that every section of the fence was damaged in some way.

The fence has collapsed at the corner

Most of the fence at the front had collapsed especially at the corner where it turns.

and is lying on the ground

At the side of the property most of the fence was on the ground as if it had lost the will to live.

Let the fun begin, starting the repairs

The only solution was to bring each damaged section back to the workshop..

The corner looks like the Loch Ness monster!!

..and as with that corner, straighten what we could and add to what was missing or beyond repair...

Finally making progress, sections repaired and ready to be reinstated

..it was very time consuming but section by section the fence was repaired.

The front looks a lot better.

Now the front has been restored to it's former glory set back down on it's low wall.

The corner is perfect, goodbye Loch Ness Monster!!

The damaged corner repaired.

The fence is bolted to the small wall and strengthen by uprights.

The view from the inside showing how the fence is supported.

This time the fence will remain upright

The fence is now upright and secure, bolted to a concrete base.

The fence is as good as, actually better than, new.

You could say it has made a full recovery!!

Now that's what I call a welcoming fence!!

And this is the view you get when you drive up to the property.
